what are quadriceps?

Quadriceps femoris muscle. It is an enormous muscle group of 4 muscles labeled as rectus femoris muscle, vastus lateralis muscle, vastus medialis muscle, vastus intermedius muscle. These four quadriceps are powerful extensors of the knee joints. Helps in major leg functions like walking, jumping, squatting, jogging, and other leg movements. 


Quadriceps exercises with the Stretch band:

1. Banded squats:         

   This exercise focuses on your quads as well as your glutes. In this exercise put the stretch band above the knees and hands in front, the torso should be straight and then go down. For a better explanation look at the picture.

2. Duck walk:

A duck walk is a great way to get stronger quads. This pressures both quads and glutes. This is quite similar to squats. In this exercise put your around both of your legs above knees and then stand in a squat position and start walking on the side just like described in the image given below.

3. Squat jacks with resistance band:

  Squat jack is a leg workout that is partially like jumping jacks and partially like squat or we can say a blend of both of them. In this exercise be in the posting of banded squat and then jump and put your legs in and repeat.

4. One leg Extension: 


  One leg extension is a leg exercise where you lay down on a mat or floor and push your pelvis upward and both of your feet on the ground and then extend your legs one by one keeping your pelvis in the air and putting a resistance band around legs.


5. Squat jumps:

Squat jumps are a great leg workout. It engages quads, glutes, hamstring, hip abductor. It is almost the same as squats except it also involve jumps with every squat. The way to do this exercise is explained in the given picture.
